Students’ Belongings Pick-up

From Tuesday, May 26-Friday, May 29, Chabot campus will be open 8:15 am – 1:45 pm for families to pick up student belongings and return school items.

In order to protect everyone’s health and well-being, we will be adhering to strict social distancing protocols during this time. All of your child’s belongings (including medication from the office) will be bagged and ready for pick up ahead of time.

Please return any school items that you will not be using over the summer including library books, instruments, and classroom books.

Fifth graders and anyone not returning to Chabot next year must return instruments, Chromebooks, and books, before getting your personal belongings. To help with management, we are asking fifth-grade families to come in windows by alphabetical order. Your yearbooks will be in your child’s bag.

Specifically, we will be following these guidelines:

• Only one adult per family — no children
• All adults enter through Main Entrance — 4th and 5th go to Upper Yard; K-3 to Lower
• Only staff is allowed in the building
• Families will report to a station and tell your child’s name; staff go into buildings and retrieve belongings — leave on the table for the family to pick up (like a store or restaurant)
• We will limit the number of families on campus for safety — please be prepared that you may need to wait a little
• Masks are required — must stay 6 feet apart

Please do your absolute best to follow the schedule below. If you have more than one child at Chabot, please come during the times indicated for the OLDER child.

If you cannot come during your assigned time, please email Margaret.Thorp@ousd.org so we are ready for you. Similarly, please email Margaret if you want a friend or neighbor to pick up your belongings, or if you need to make special arrangements of any sort, we are happy to help arrange a pick-up/drop off if needed.

Please note that because teachers will be busy packing student belongings next week, some of your regularly scheduled instructional Zoom sessions may be canceled or changed.

Report cards will be available via the Aeries parent portal on Friday, May 29. The final trimester will only have comments — no grades as per OUSD.
