Chabot’s Annual Spirit Week begins May 24th.
May 24 (regular dismissal day) — Comfy Cozy Day; Too sleepy to get dressed today? Just come to school in your comfy clothes or appropriate pajamas! It can include Crazy Hair Day!!
May 28-30 — the last few days of school are all Minimum days, with a 1:50 dismissal. It’s also Spirit Week!
Tuesday, May 28 (1:50 dismissal) Rainbow Day!
Kindergarten wears Green
First grade wears Red
Second grade wears Yellow
Third grade wears Orange
Fourth grade wears Purple (or class shirts)
Fifth grade wears Indigo/Blue
Faculty and Staff can wear their student’s color or Rainbow
Wednesday, May 29 (1:50 dismissal) — Favorite Book or Movie Character Day (no masks/paint or weapons or ethnic stereotypes)
Thursday, May 30 (1:50 dismissal) — Chabot Spirit Day! Wear your favorite Chabot Shirt or Chabot’s colors, purple and gold!!!! For K-4, it can include Crazy Hair Day.
Last Day of School is May 30, Promotion for 5th grade students will start at 9:30 am. For other grades, end of school celebrations varies by teacher.
Don’t miss the chance to hear Annie Barrows speak at this year’s Read-a-Thon Family Reading Night, Monday, May 6 at 6 pm.
Annie is an award-winning author of the beloved Ivy & Bean series, plus her newer Magic series, as well as several adult novels. Then pick up your signed copies to read at home. Please use the attached order form and place it in the envelope on the bulletin board in the school office by Thursday, May 2. Checks should be payable to Mrs. Dalloway’s.
20% of the pre-tax sales will be donated back to Chabot. Books will also be for sale the evening of the event, as long as supplies last.
Students will bring home Read-a-Thon packets with instructions and materials this Friday. They have two weeks to read as much as they can.
Parents, look for an email tomorrow from Chabot Read-a-Thon (via 99Pledges), with a link to your student’s online sponsorship page. Share the link via email and social media with family and friends to ask them to sponsor your child. All proceeds support our amazing enrichment programs.
For budding readers, time spent being read to counts! In addition to classroom prizes (student with most minutes read and student with the most money raised), the classroom with the highest average # minutes read per student wins a pizza party!
