Admission to Chabot Elementary and other schools in the Oakland Unified School District is determined by the district’s Student Welcome Center, which is responsible for registering and assigning all OUSD students. This office is located at:
746 Grand Ave (at the Lakeview School Campus) Oakland, CA 94610
The school selection process begins on December 1st, when parents or guardians submit an online appliction through Enrollwise, a link will be on the OUSD website on Dec 1st; click the link above.
When submitting the application, you must also upload proof of your child’s age (birth certificate, passport, I-94, and one document to verify your address, such as utility bills, automobile registration with proof of insurance, homeowner or renter’s insurance policy, property tax statement, rental agreement, grant deed or title to your home, property tax statement or official letter from a social service or government agency. The Welcome Center reviews the applications and assigns each child to a school. Families will receive an email or text with your school assignment on March 6th. Families have until March 27th to accept/decline the offer.
Kindergarten Entry Age
Children must turn five on or before September 1 of the year they enter kindergarten.
