Be on the PTA

Your PTA needs you! We are seeking nominees for the 2019-20 PTA Board.

The Board has a few categories of volunteers: elected officers and standing committee chairs along with some other leadership opportunities. We need to identify nominees by February 5, so don’t wait to step up. In March, the PTA will elect a new slate of officers. Here are the open positions. Current position holders are happy to talk with anyone about what their roles entail in more detail.

  • Treasurer – keeps permanent books of account and records; leads budget process and prepares the budget for adoption; deposits money in the bank; prepares all required authorizations for payment; pays bills; submits required forms, and presents a treasurer’s report at the association and board meetings.
  • Auditor – prepares and presents a year-end audit and an end-of-term audit; verifies all required report forms have been completed and filed by the due date.
  • Historian – act as the custodian of pertinent records and documents the Chabot community primarily through photography.

Students Get Involved – History is NOW

Students Get Involved – History is NOW

All Chabot students are invited to be part of Chabot Elementary’s 2019 Annual Black History Event. We are looking for actors, writers, singers, dancers, and artists — whatever your child’s interest is, this is a great chance to get involved. The theme of this year’s event is History Is NOW (a performance told as a magical tour meeting known and lesser-known influential African Americans from past and present). Even if your child missed last week’s information meeting, it is not too late to get involved. Rehearsals will be on Thursdays from 3-4pm starting Thursday, January 24th. For more information, email Ms. Johnson. This amazing performance will be presented twice — for families on February 28 from 5-7pm and again, at a school assembly on March 1.
