December 5-11 is Computer Science Education Week featuring the “Hour of Code”, a nationwide campaign to celebrate computer science and coding for kids of all ages. Ms. Ettinger, Chabot’s Library Media Teacher, will be using Hour of Code hands-on tutorials next week during regular media classes for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.
The Hour of Code is a fantastic way to give kids the experience of programming a computer. Through age-appropriate tutorials kids learn constructive computer use, nurture creativity, and improve problem-solving skills. You can learn more about Hour of Code using these links:

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve achieved our fundraising goal for the 2016-2017 Chabot Elementary PTA fall Annual Fund campaign. An impressive 61% of Chabot families joined in raising more than $180,000! These funds will directly support the programs sponsored by the PTA and help us reach the required annual budget of $440,000. Thank you to the entire Chabot community for making this year’s campaign another huge success!
We want to give a special shout out to both the 1st and 4th grades for their overall participation in the Annual Fund campaign. These two grades had the highest overall participation and their extra support is applauded. Here are the final class participation figures are:
