Chabot Grads Talk About Claremont
Chabot graduates attending sixth grade at Claremont Middle
School want to share their opinions about Claremont:
“I think that Claremont is a good school because it
has teachers who really teach you what you need to know.
It isn’t a rowdy school. In math we are learning about
integers, and we’ve already learned multiplying and
dividing fractions and decimals. In history, we are learning
about Mesopotamia, and have learned about archeological teams
and have done hands-on projects and drawings. Claremont’s
almost like Chabot except bigger. Claremont has special classes
for people with different needs, so the classes are just
right for everybody. I think it’s just as good as Chabot.”
“I know that a lot of people are probably having doubts
about sending their children to Claremont. But we do good
things and do lots of nice work and fun projects and take
fun field trips. They even took us to the movies! The teachers
are all good and teach well. My favorite subject is Spanish.
In Spanish you learn a lot of things to say like how to tell
time, how do say what you love, dislike, or like, how to
say months and days of the week, how to ask to go to the
bathroom, see the nurse, go to the office, or get a drink
of water, and a lot of other things. Most of the people who
go there are nice. It’s a good school and I really
like it there.”
“Claremont is a place where
you can feel comfortable in class. The teachers teach you
what you want to know. The
teachers are always willing to help you, and there are lots
of opportunities to get tutored if you are behind in your
work. Gym is fun, and it gets you into better shape. In science
you do fun projects and it helps you understand better why
things happen on Earth. At the beginning of the year you
are tested on your skills on different subjects, so they
know what class to put you in. The students are friendly
and nice.”
