The Chabot PTA raises money each year to pay for Chabot’s wonderful enrichment programs, including art, music, garden, Spanish, computers and the library. In addition to enrichment, we fund many other important things such as:

• Teacher allocations
• Professional development
• Parent outreach activities
• Community events
• Important sub-groups such as PCAD

2009 Fundraisers at a Glance

FALL CARNIVAL (October 25) A wonderful, community-building event for families and friends, with a Halloween theme. Each class helps run a booth, so you’ll learn how you can help from the class room parent.

RAFFLE (September 18 – October 18) We sell raffle tickets around the community and prizes are drawn the day of the Fall Carnival. Each child is given raffle tickets to sell to family and friends.

AUCTION (March 20) Our biggest fundraiser ... and so much fun you’ll want to be involved.

BOOK FAIR (April 19-23) Purchase books in the auditorium during the Book Fair and a portion of the profits benefits Chabot. Overlaps with Turn-Off-TV Week.

READATHON (April 17-May 2) Students get sponsors, keep logs, and read as much as they can in two weeks. Overlaps with the Book Fair and Turn-Off-TV Week.

KIDS’ NIGHT OUT (11/13, 12/4, 1/15, 2/19, 3/19, 4/16, 5/14 and 6/4) Students have a fun night, including a pizza dinner and a great movie, while parents get an evening free. Run by rotating parent volunteers and a great way for working parents to be involved.

FREE MONEY FOR CHABOT Register at www.escrip.com and www.onecause.com, then shop at hundreds of participating retail merchants that contribute a percentage of your purchases to Chabot at no cost to you. Additionally, register your credit, debit, grocery club cards and Macy’s card at escrip.com for further donations to the school. You can also purchase physical scrip that can be used as cash at Berkeley Bowl, the Market Hall and Peet’s Coffee. more info>>

T-SHIRTS AND SWEATSHIRTS Sold throughout the year at school and PTA events and by order form, located in the school office.

RESTAURANT & COMMUNITY PARTNERS Throughout the year, local restaurants and service providers support Chabot by donating a percentage of receipts to the school when Chabot parents dine or purchase services. Restaurants will be announced as they are scheduled. Local service providers that contribute to the PTA are listed on this Web site on the Friends of Chabot page.
