To ensure the success of the program, we ask you to remember:

  • After-school programs are not a replacement for Adventure Time* or other childcare programs.

  • There are many classes that do not start immediately after the school day! It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that the student is either enrolled in Adventure Time* or is supervised by an adult while on school premises before the start of any after-school program that begins more than 10 minutes after school gets out. Neither the school nor the OUSD staff is responsible for the child’s whereabouts once school is out. Parents or guardians are required to pick up their children promptly at the end of the program, or have arrangements already in place with Adventure Time. Kindergartners who are attending a class directly after dismissal will be picked up by the providers and escorted to class or by parents directly. Students in grades 1-5 may get themselves to their after school-program. Ultimately, this is the parent’s responsibility and not the responsibility of the teachers or AT.
  • Adventure Time* will receive a roster of students enrolled in each after-school program.
  • All program providers will offer at least one scholarship per session. Eligibility for and enrollment in scholarship slots will be managed by the principal in consultation with the class provider. Please let the program provider know if you need a scholarship.
  • If you have specific questions about the programs, please call the program providers. If you have general questions about Chabot’s After-School program, please contact Gretchen and Christian Schreiber, (510) 350-8849, wackergr@yahoo.com.

*Adventure Time is an independent before- and after-school program, with a Chabot branch on campus. After-School Programs are not a replacement for Adventure Time or other child care programs.
