Chabot Elementary is participating in a new fundraiser called Energize for the Prize that will bring money to the Chabot PTA when members of our community make energy efficient home improvements through a statewide rebate program called Energy Upgrade California.
The program was created to help homeowners pay for insulation, new windows, furnace or duct work and other improvements that can make your home more comfortable and energy efficient. Oakland homeowners may be eligible to receive up to $6,000 or more in rebates for a wide range of energy upgrades, including a rebate for a comprehensive energy assessment.
Through Energize for the Prize, the Chabot PTA can get $100 for every upgrade, and the school that helps recruit the most upgrades will earn an additional $5,000 in May 2012. There is no cap on the number of households that can participate or the amount of money we can raise through this program. Any homeowner in Alameda County can have their upgrade benefit Chabot.
